REST, RECOVER, & REPAIR: Deeper Sports Massage for San Antonio Athletes

You might have noticed that Heeling Sole provides ONLY Barefoot Massage (and yes, soon Yoga!) – but not your run of the mill Swedish, Sports or Deep Tissue massage that you can get anywhere in town. What we offer is a combination of all that, plus more.

The massage therapists at Heeling Sole provide an effective style of bodywork for treating and preventing many types of athletic injuries – it is called Ashiatsu. The tagline for this technique is true, it feels like “the deepest, most luxurious massage on the planet”, but Ashiatsu has also been described as an absolutely fantastic release of tension and muscle alignment”  by one of our awesome clients, an endurance running coach and Crossfit muscleman!  Tissue issue’s we address on a regular basis include Plantar Fasciitis, bunion pain, shin splints,  repetitive strains, Piriformis Syndrome or Sciatic like pain, IT Band Syndrome, quad and hip flexor pain usually from overuse and shortened length, Low, Mid and Upper Back pain before or after surgery, Rotator Cuff issues, tendonitis, TMJ, headaches, tight muscles of every shape and size …. of course every person is different, your situation is a unique puzzle to explore, but getting relief from that pain by working at the level of depth your body needs to heal is what our Heels do best!

THE SUSTAINED, DEEP LEVEL OF CONSISTENT COMPRESSION FROM ORIGIN TO INSERTION OF EACH MUSCLE HELPS TO PROVIDE FAST ACTING AND LONG LASTING RESULTS, RESOLVING PAIN THAT WOULD OTHERWISE HOLD YOU BACK.

Many of our clients have experienced significant decreases pain with amazing increases in range of motion and athletic performance over a short period of time. Clients with sports or repetitive strain injuries receiving our massages often tell us that they are more aware of their bodies, feel flexible and can easily acheive their strenuous fitness goals with regular Ashiatsu sessions from us – and we are glad to help!

THE DEEP, BROAD BASED PRESSURE FROM OUR FEET ASSISTS WITH REST, RECOVERY, & REPAIR OF MUSCLE TISSUE, AND CREATES A POSITIVE STRUCTURAL CHANGE IN YOUR ACUTE AND CHRONIC SOFT TISSUE INJURIES.

“Hurts so Good” NOT “Not Pain no Gain.” You can now experience pain-free, bruise-free pressure on the deeper layers of muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissues as we break up adhered scar tissue and create space for glide and movement along your muscle and fascial lines WITHOUT wincing, clenching or holding your breath from pokey elbows, knuckles or thumbs! Because we are combining sports/athletic massage techniques with trigger point, deep tissue, myofascial release and barefoot massage, we go just as deep and detailed as expensive sports injury treatment practitioners, but the broad surface of our foot diffuses the intense sensation, without lessening our ability to work with the same focus and specifity. The added bonus is that you leave feeling refreshed, relaxed, and ready to tackle  your next goal.

WE WORK WITH ENDURANCE RUNNERS, CYCLISTS, SWIMMERS, ROLLER DERBY SKATERS, ELITE FITNESS & HIGH INTENSITY WORKOUT FANS, CROSSFIT COMPETITORS, YOGI’S, AND YOU!
